Admins: ebrary perpetual and DDA-discoverable holdings can be set to auto-update in OCLC WorldCat Knowledgebase
ebrary and OCLC have improved the integration of ebrary holdings in OCLC WorldCat knowledge base. Your ebrary perpetual holdings and DDA-discoverable titles can now be automatically updated in WorldCat.
To take advantage of this improved service, email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for automated holdings updates between ebrary and OCLC. Please include your OCLC symbol and your ebrary site ID or URL.
How does the integration work?
- ebrary sends perpetual and DDA-discoverable holdings information to OCLC for all ebrary sites for whom ebrary has set an OCLC symbol. Currently this feed is set to run every other Tuesday.
- OCLC processes this data and loads it into WorldCat knowledge base, at the latest by the Monday following.
- Once implemented, your ebrary perpetual and DDA-discoverable holdings will be maintained automatically in your WorldCat knowledge base.
Note that ebrary subcriptions are handled in a different way. For subscriptions, you would to into the OCLC WorldCat admin interface and manually select the ebrary subscriptions that you subscribe to. Note, ebrary automatically updates OCLC WorldCat with changes to the contents of all ebrary subscriptions.
If you are not currently subscribing to WorldCat and would like more information, please contact: Sara Finch, email@example.com.
