If full downloading with Bluefire leads to errors such as waiting on “Verifying Loan”, the following troubleshooting steps might resolve the problem:

– Deauthorize your Adobe ID in Bluefire

  1. Go to the Bluefire app on your device
  2. Click the “Infoicon at the bottom right
  3. Under “Adobe eBooks are Enabled”, click the “Deauthorize” button

– Authorize your Adobe ID in Bluefire

  1. Go to the Bluefire app on your device
  2. Click the “Infoicon at the bottom right
  3. Under “Enable Adobe eBooks”, click the “Authorize” button
  4. Enter your Adobe ID and password, then click “Authorize”

Known problem re-downloading a book using Bluefire:

  • Once a previously downloaded book has been returned or has expired, you should be able to re-download it.
  • However, Bluefire currently gives the following error:
    • “This loaned item has already been returned.  It can no longer be accessed.”
  • Solution on Android and iPads, but may not work on iPhones:
    • Go to Bluefire’s tmp folder (e.g., Phone\Bluefire\tmp)
    • Delete the .acsm file(s) for the book
    • Then try re-downloading the book
  • Note, re-downloading is not a problem with Adobe Digital Editions (i.e., on a computer)

Important note!  Notes made in downloaded files are not retained after the download expires or is returned.

  • Adobe Digital Editions and Bluefire treat each download of the same book as a brand-new download, completely separate from any previous downloads of that book.
