May 2014 MARC auto-update

ebrary MARC records pages were auto-updated on 2014-05-22.

If your ebrary MARC records page did not auto-update on this date, it is most likely because you had manually updated earlier in May.

You can manually update your ebrary MARC records page at any time by clicking the “Update MARC Data” button.  If there have been any changes since the previous dated/time-stamped line, a new dated/time-stamped line will be created.

Just prior to the monthly auto-update we upload MARC records for brand-new-to-ebrary titles.

Also note the new “Content News” category – we will be posting information there about significant additions to and deletions from ebrary subscription collections.

MARC changeover:ebrary will supply RDA MARC records beginning October 24, 2013

Pursuant to the Library of Congress implementation of RDA cataloging standards March 31, 2013 and per our communication earlier in March, we remind you that beginning October 24, 2013, ProQuest ebrary will provide RDA records for newly added titles.  Please note that there will be a mix of formats: RDA for newly loaded titles and AACR2 for MARCs loaded before October 2013.

We have taken the opportunity of this change to follow the Program for Cooperative Cataloging’s Provider-Neutral (PN) guidelines, which can be found here.

Highlighted below is a list of key fields which will be affected by the change to RDA/PN to help you prepare for this change.

Further below is a link to a file of sample ebrary RDA/PN records you can use to conduct a test load.

If you have any questions about this change and how it impacts you, the ProQuest ebrary team at support@ebrary.com will be happy to assist you.
