2. Create an Adobe account if you don’t already have one:

  • If you’ve done full-document downloads on ebrary, you already have one
  • To create an Adobe account:

2) Click “Create an account
3) Fill in at least the starred fields…
4) Click “OK

3. Optional: Link your ebrary account to your Facebook account (a one-time setup) so that you can sign in to ebrary’s mobile app using your Facebook login.

  • From your computer’s browser, go to your ebrary site as usual
  • Sign in to your personal ebrary account as usual  (Dont have one?  create one, see http://support.ebrary.com/kb/to-create-ebrary-account)
  • Click “My Settings” link at top-right of ebrary screen
  • Under “Link your account to Facebook“, click “Log In
  • On Facebook login page, enter your Facebook credentials, click “Log In
(Don’t have a Facebook account? Click “Sign up for Facebook” at lower left)
  • You can then go to your device and sign in on the ebrary app using the “Sign in with Facebook” button and your Facebook credentials
  • Important note: The Facebook Sign-in feature does not access or post anything on Facebook accounts, it just takes advantage of user’s Facebook authentication.

4. Optional: Link your ebrary account to your email address and a passcode you create (a one-time setup) so that you can sign in to ebrary’s mobile app using your email address and passcode.

  • Under “Connect your mobile devices to your ebrary account“, click “Mobile Setup
  • Enter your email address, and re-enter it for verification.  Click “Save
  • ebrary will send an email to this address immediately (but it may take your mail server a few minutes to receive it)
  • From your computer, open your email from a new tab in the SAME browser with your open ebrary session if possible.
  • From your email, open the message from ebrary.
  • In the email message, click “Set Passcode
  • ebrary will now attempt to take you back to your ebrary site to complete the process.
    • If you get an “Unauthorized access” error, your ebrary site does not use a custom login, and we recommend you simply use your personal ebrary account username and password to sign in to your mobile device – you do not need to set up a passcode.
  • As prompted, enter a passcode of your choosing, and re-enter it for verification.  Click “Ok
    • Must be at least 4 characters long (alpha and/or numeric)
  • If successful, a message will be displayed: “You can use this email ID and passcode pair with your ebrary mobile application”
  • You can then go to your device and sign in on the ebrary app using the “email/passcode” button and your email and passcode credentials

ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE (phone, tablet) running iOS (4.3 or higher) or Android (2.1 or higher):

  • Initially you’ll need to install ebrary app using “App Store” or “Google Play” icon
Note, to access the Apple App Store, you’ll need an Apple account; to create one without a credit card see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
  • Once you’ve installed the ebrary app, tap to open it
  • Sign in using one of the following 3 authentication options:

1) Enter your personal ebrary account username and password

- This option only works if your ebrary site does NOT use a custom login.  Examples of a custom login are: signing in with just a barcode (e.g. student ID) or signing in via your institution’s proxy server, Athens, Shibboleth, etc.

- If signing in with your personal ebrary account username and password doesn’t work on the app, you’ll need to use one of the following login options instead.

2) Enter your Facebook username and password

- Initial set up from a browser required, see above

3) Enter your email address and pass code

-Initial set up from a browser required, see above

  • Once signed in, you should see a ‘successful authentication’ message
  • If it’s your first time signing in to the app, you will be prompted for your Adobe account info
